Vegan Junk Food!

Now, sometimes we just need a bit of a feast. Whether it's PMS, exam stress or birthday celebrations, we all like a bit of junk food now and again. So here's a list of my top 10 favourite vegan junk! Albeit a lot are accidently vegan, its still a win-win!  (I'm also going to include a full list of random vegan junk outside of this top ten too!) Ps, some ingredients may be different in different countries and some contain palm oil so always check the pack!

1. Veggie Percy Pigs;
If you're outside the UK or Irelandthen you might not be formiliar with these but they're ...actually quite hard to explain.. They're just sweet, chewy jellies that I've always LOVED. Beyond delighted that there's a no gelatin version! You can get them form any Marks & Spencers for about €2.50.

2. Skittles/ Starburst;
A cinema staple in my books! These have been childhood favourites of mine that I still buy from time to time!

3. Clif / Trek / Nakd Bars:
A vegans or gym freaks fave, these are awesome sources of good protein and nutrients. Definietly more on the healthy side but they're still yum and great snacks to bring to work or college.

4. Doritos-Lightly Salted, Chili Heatwave;
More on the smelly side, these make for great movie night snacks. I'd also recommend trying these Doritos with salted popcorn-sounds a little weird if youve never tried it before but honestly, it's the best thing just try it!

5. Aldi's Dark Chocolate Digestives;
I was buzzing to see that these were vegan and if you're thinking "ew, no I hate dark chocolate"-don't.  The chocolate hasn't got a high percentage of cocao so it isn't too rich.

6. Betty Crocker Chocolate Cake:
Replace the added eggs with flax or chia seeds that have been mixed in water and set aside until gloopy and use almond/coconut/hazelnut/soy/oat/rice/hemp or any other plant milk you can find.

7. Lotus Biscuit spread:
A great alternative to Nutella!

8. Oreos:
A standard one for most. A must try with hazelnut or almond milk!

9. Aldi Mango/ Raspberry Sorbet;
Perfect coming up to Summer! Don't forget you can also blend frozen bananas with any fruit to make a more creamy ice cream.

10. Tesco Jelly Beans;
Awesome alternative to the gelatin filled jellies that are everywhere but be warned, I often feel sick after eating too many of them! Probably all the artificial sugar!

A few reasons why you should make a conscious effort to switch to veggie jellys and biscuits...
* You really don't need the nastiness of beef/pig or bovine gelatin in your sweets.

* Not only is cows milk unhealthy for you (thanks to the pus, hormones etc), it's not natural. Our bodies stopped producing the enzyme lactose after infancy so drinking milk isn't essential and drinking the milk of another species definitely isn't. Not to mention the artificial insemination of the cow to begin with and the seperation of mother and calf so we can use her milk. Definitely one to leave out of any recipe!

More Veg Junk...

-Fry's Chocolate Cream
-Walkers: Salt& Vinegar, Ready Salted, Prawn Cocktail, Worcester Sauce.
-Skips
Pringles: Original, BBQ, Paprika, Smokey Bacon

- McVitie's: Ginger Nuts, Fig Rolls, Hobnobs, Chocolate Chip Hobnobs
-Aldi cola bottles
-Aldi Mint Creme chocolate bar

Vintage shades.

Hola,

So it's been a few days since I posted anything...I just wasn't feeling it lately.  I think there's a good few people who are feeling the same within the community at the moment.  Between negativity and boring, repetitive posts from everyone, it's been lacking some serious creativity as of late- myself included!
So with this in mind I decided to get back to what I started with -vintage pieces! I've always been a lover of charity shops and finding bargains anywhere that I can. Big labels aren't really the goal for me but on occasion I find some gems from old school favourites.

This brown velvet shirt is a kind of piece I've been searching for a long time. A couple of years ago I seen a green one that was dirt cheap but I wasn't quick enough and it was snapped up by some other eagle eyed shopper! So this one filled the void I guess..

What's your favourite vintage find?

What I eat in a day || hclf

Hellooo,

So seen as September is often known as the 'month of new beginnings' I decided to include a bit of a more lifestyle post as opposed to the usual 'outfit of the day' kind of posts. Recently I switched up my diet completely.I try to maintain a high carb low fat diet. It's been a gradual process but for the last 2 months I've gone fully vegan, prior to this I had gotten rid of meat and dairy,milk in particular since January. This whole change was mainly for skin reasons but also because I came to realise that there is no need to drink it, any nutrients that are in it can be gotten from another, more natural source. Considering it's not natural for us to drink it and also considering that we're the only species who drinks the milk of another, which is bizarre if you think about it.. But that's another story, I may end up doing a more detailed post on this lifestyle but for now I'll just include these photos of a typical day for me!

Each day I drink a litre of water before having breakfast mainly because I'm pretty thirsty! Occasionally I put lemon in it but not always. Regardless my aim each day is to drink at least 3 litres of water! After chugging this back I usually go for a 45 minute run, on and off of course!

Smoothie bowls are my new favourite thing. They're super filling and will curb any sweet tooth for sure! This one has 5 bananas and a bunch of frozen mango blended with coconut milk with nectarines and chia seeds to top. 5 bananas might seem like a lot but when they're blended you don't notice and this is just how many it takes for me to feel full and satisfied. One of the best things about
this lifestyle is that you can eat as much as you like!

Baked potato salad with sweet chilly sauce. I had 2 apples and a pear alongside this too!

Veggie stir fry is one of my faves. I added sweet chilli sauce to this too along with lots of spices and rice noodles.

Till next time!

Palm Tree.

Hellooo,

What better way to get into the holiday spirit than with a dress covered in palm tree leaves, ey? This gem is from Missguided and is made from the most comfortable fabric ever. It has a silky feel but isn't like that cheap costume satin that is used all too often on the high street. Once again we took these photos at our villa since it had so many great spots for pictures. It's kind of starting to get painful going through these photos now, when I think of how long ago they were taken...

What's your ultimate holiday get away?

Loungin'

//Primark top// New Look shorts+Sunglasses//

This day we decided that the villa was that good we didn't need to go out so we just chilled by the pool for the day. We were lucky enough to have a pool and a jacuzzi on the roof, which made for the perfect place for photographs. Looking over all these photos and editing makes me wish I was back here...still, if anyone is thinking of going away with a big group, I would urge you to stay in a villa! So much fun and a decent price when split between everyone!

Are you heading abroad this summer?

Working It Out.

Aloha,

Sports Luxe is would seem- a trend thats really hit the fashion world in reason times, well as much as I do love a good pair of Nike workout leggings or the latest Adidas Stan Smith trainers (which will be mine) at the moment the only sports luxe I have going on is my workout gear.

Considering they're clothes that I'll be sweating in and all things ew, I feel there is no real need to go all out, buying more expensive workout clothes from the likes of Nike or Victoria's Secret and the likes. As much as I do love their workout collections my budget just doesn't agree, I'm afraid.

So what better place to go when looking for value for money clothes but Pennys/Primark, eh?! Apart from the trainers(obvs) everything here is Primark. I think a good pair of trainers is needed when doing exercise, so they are justified and Nike ones are always super comfortable.

What's your staple brand for workout clothes?

Black and White ft Cara Delevinge

The end of an era for sure. Graduation day is definitely a time that you think is in the far future but of course like everything, it's upon you before you know it. No longer will I have to sit through various classes, see the same people everyday, go through the routine of early mornings and so on. Obviously college life still involves deadlines, lecturers etc but it will be a huge change to say the least!

I opted for a simple enough dress with chunky black heels for this night time attire. Bit of a dodgy colour to wear on a night out but sure look...
Jewellery was kept minimal as I decided to keep it as a fresher,cleaner look with small details. This tux dress from Missguided was the perfect piece that wasn't too revealing but still kept it appropriate for a night out.
 It was a bit of an inspired outfit from the forever gorgeous Cara Delevinge. Known for favouring more boyish silhouettes, It's no surprise this type of dress is becoming more popular. Helping us flatter chested ladies out a little more, eh?

I thought this fab Missguided piece made for a great 'celebrity inspired look' to this blue tux jacket Cara wore to London Fashion week from Emilio Pucci's fall 2014 collection. Of course they are by no means identical, hence why I say 'inspired' but it's no harm to look to celebrities for ideas every once in a while!

Who is your go-to celeb for outfit inspiration?

Crossways.

Hola,

So the triumphant vintage blazer makes a come back...I can't remember the last time I wore this coat to be honest, let only the last time it was featured  on the blog. One things for sure I've never worn it on such a nice day!  Before you ask, yes these photos were taken on the same day as one of my last posts and yes I am talking about the weather again...I think at this stage it's obvious most people, particularly Irish people have a habit of talking about the weather constantly! Sure look..

 Anyway this was taken a good few weeks ago now and it's safe to say things have changed drastically on the weather front. As I wright this, I am sitting in my room with a mountain of books and study to do while the rain pours down my window as though it had never rained before. Praying for even a bit of that summer glow to come back!

As for the outfit it's self it's pretty much just a quick and simple way to jazz up day wear. Add a pair of heels, maybe throw in a clutch and a good structured jacket and you're good to go!

What's your favorite way to jazz up an outfit?
